I have a few links to a website  and then a Youtube video that will fill everyone in on where they are going and the purpose for their visit. Literature Circles

Time and time again research has shown that reading and talking about what you read is critical for academic success. The key is to get readers engaged and encourage them to talk about what they read. In order to do that readers need a common vocabulary that allows them to share their ideas. Sellie!, Bar down! and dangle, this is the common vocabulary of hockey players. Connections, word choice and inferring, these are some of the words that we need to discuss books. We have been working on these concepts all year. It's time now for students to put this to work in literature circles.
Students are placed in groups related to interests and then read a book they have chosen. Then they share their ideas, using our common understanding of these literary concepts.
Here are our groups in action.
