Culminating Activity

The students are working on their culminating writing activity for this unit. The grade 6's are working on creating a biography of a famous Canadian. The grade 5's are working on creating an Historical Fiction story. The learning goals and success criteria for both assignments are below. We will be looking to have a rough copy ready by Friday.  I am encouraging students to continue to do research at home over the next few night, especially for the grade 5 students. Their assignment involves them having some basic knowledge of the historical time period they chose to write about.

Amazing feeling!!

The energy is amazing in church this morning!! Having close to a 1000 kids singing and sharing the Eucharist was a very powerful experience.

JANUARY FINALLY UNDER WAY!!

Well, the weather has been terrible, but finally we have a complete class.  Today the students received several tests to bring home and have signed.  They also organized their portfolios in preparation for student led conferences later this month.  News will be going home soon detailing how our traditional parent interviews will change school wide this year.  Keep checking out the blog for daily updates and peeks into our classroom.
